The representative of Ibadan South-East I Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr. Bamidele Ojo, has appealed to governments at all levels and individuals to create job opportunities for youths.
Ojo made the appeal on Monday after donating a block of three classrooms each to Sulia Adedeji Memorial Primary School, Kobomoje and Christ Church, Mapo School IV, Elekuro, Ibadan.
The lawmaker also distributed motorcycles, deep freezers, hairdryers, electric clippers, grinding machines and generators.
He said, “The devil always finds work for an idle hand. No wonder the majority of our youths roaming the streets engage in social vices that put the nation at risk.”
Ojo, who was shot by robbers in November last year, said, “I would not have been alive today to embark on this empowerment programme if not for God that spared my life. I, therefore urge those who are privileged to impact on the poor masses.”
The lawmaker commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his transformation agenda in the state.
Speaker, House of Assembly, Alhaja Monsurat Sunmonu, commended Ojo for his efforts.
