The three aides to the Taraba State Governor Danbaba Suntai, who have been receiving treatment at the National Hospital since last Sunday when they were evacuated from the Yola Specialist Hospital, Adamawa State, have been flown to Germany.
Sources disclosed to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY that apart from the ADC, Dasat Iliya, who needs further treatment, the reason the Chief Security Officer (CSO), Timo Dangana, and the Chief Detail, Joel Danladi, made the trip- was to see their principal and for the governor to be sure that they were in good condition.
LEADERSHIP had reported that the ADC was critically injured in the plane crash and was unconscious and so could not be moved until the hospital had stabilised his condition.
The personal physician to the governor, Dr. Ahmed Kara, who confirmed the trip, said: “The trip by the ADC is warranted as he needs further treatment but the other two can be handled here and have already been addressed.
"But the governor doesn’t know their condition; so, we decided to take them to Germany so they can see their governor and their governor can see them. That way, they can know that what we are telling them is true.”
Activist lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, had given the state government a three-day ultimatum, which ended last Friday to move the aides abroad or be ready for a court action.
But Kara explained that they could not travel earlier on Wednesday as planned because of delays in processing their visas. The patients left the National Hospital at 8.02 am and were airborne in an air ambulance, a MED EVAC aircraft, Challenger 601 with registration No. D-BUSY at 9.05 am.
