Adamawa State pilgrims, who performed this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia, will start returning home from Thursday. Daily Trust gathered that the inaugural flight of pilgrims back to Nigeria is slated for Wednesday.
Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Pilgrims Board, Alh.Bashir Aliyu, said all arrangements have been made for the exercise.
“The pilgrims will start returning by God’s grace this Thursday, and we thank the almighty Allah that the exercise has been successful so far,’’Aliyu said.
He said the state government will ensure that the pilgrims return according to schedule. Aliyu added that plans are underway by the board to provide shuttle buses that will take pilgrims to Masjid Alharam, the main mosque in Makkah in order to ease their transportation difficulties in subsequent operations.
He denied that there was fire outbreak in one of the hotels rented for the state pilgrims, saying all the pilgrims are hale and hearty, except one person who was earlier deported back to Adamawa for insanity.
