Arik To Explain ‘Incident’ On Abuja Bound Plane

The management of Arik Airways has countered reports of a bomb scare on its flight from Maiduguri to Abuja this afternoon.

The airline told aviation correspondents that it was preparing a statement to address the report.

In the same vein, Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah tweeted on her handle that “The alleged breaking news about a bomb scare on an Arik flight is absolutely false.

"There is no iota of truth to this rumour whatsoever. The flyon public should please go about their normal business as airport/airspace is safe. Thank you.”

There was a wave of unconfirmed reports earlier today (Tuesday) that an unarmed man believed to have boarded the flight was detained at the Abuja airport by security operatives following an incident.
