Gunmen have kidnapped Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s cousin The governor’s cousin, whose name was given as Pa Samuel Uduaghan, was abducted by the gunmen as the Acting Inspector- General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, was taking the delivery of 60 pick-up vans, two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and other equipment donated by the state to the police at the Government House in Asaba. It was learnt that the gunmen trailed their victim, Pa Samuel Uduaghan, to his Direct Labour Agency (DLA) residence and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
As at the time of filing in this report, no link has been made with the suspected kidnappers and the victim’s first son, Mr. Emmanuel Uduaghan (the governor’s name sake) declined comment on the incidence.
Speaking during the commissioning of the vehicles, the governor said kidnappers and armed robbers sneaked into Delta from neighbouring states, saying: “Fighting criminality across the state has been very challenging. Most of the criminals we have here sneaked in from the neighbouring states.”
