Three people have been shot to death in Azare town headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi state.
In his account of the incidence a community leader in Azare yesterday said “Tragedy again struck our town, late evening on Sunday when unknown people suspected to be armed bandits shot three persons dead a woman and two men”.
An eye witness stated that the man killed was a trader who was shot at about 6pm when he was locking up his shop at the end of the day activity. The eye witness said gunmen opened fire on him, his apprentice and another woman and disappeared into thin air.
The state Police commissioner, Mr Mohammed Ladan who confirmed the incident to newsmen in a telephone interview said armed robbers attacked some people late evening in Azare town and shot three people dead.
The attack was third in Azare town within two months. It would be recalled that gunmen recently killed former comptroller General of Prison Services, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Jarma and his aide and also attacked the house of former secretary to federal government, Alhaji Aminu Saleh where two policemen were shot dead.
