The General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi has warned Yoruba actors, actresses and singers against acting and singing to glorify the devil, saying God would judge those culpable if they did not use their talent to glorify God.
Kumuyi hosted hundreds of Yoruba actors, actresses, movies producers and pop singers on Sunday at the National Art Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, and he warned them to desist from acting and singing such songs that would lead people into sin.
At the event were popular Yoruba entertainers, such as Baba Sala, Jide Kosoko, Oga Bello, Lere Paimo, Ebenezer Obey, Fatai Rolling Dollars among others.
Kumuyi cited the case of some servants in the Bible whom God gave various talents to trade before his coming, saying that one of the servants misused his talent and was cast into hell when the Lord asked him to give account of how he used his talent.
He said the same fate would befall Yoruba entertainers who constantly shoot films and sing songs that glorify the devil, saying that God owns the talent some of them were misusing to sing negative songs that affect the society negatively.
Kumuyi added that some of the Yoruba entertainers even join secret cult to get power to sing and act for the devil, saying such act would never go unpunished by God who owns every talent.
“Use your talent with judgment day in mind; realize that your talent is given to you by God and he will ask you to give account of how you use the talent he gave to you to glorify his name,” said Kumuyi, who was represented by the Head, Yoruba Section of the Ministry, Pastor Rufus Bamigbayan.
