Wesley Sneijder is confident that Netherlands have what it takes to beat Romania in their imminent World Cup 2014 qualifier in Bucharest.
Both teams have collected nine points from their three qualification games to date, and the Inter midfielder has underlined the importance of Tuesday’s match.
“The team that wins this game takes a big step towards the World Cup,” he was quoted as saying by De Telegraaf.
“I am confident that we will leave the pitch with three points in the bag.”
Sneijder will miss Tuesday’s qualifier due to injury but he is desperate to return to full match fitness as soon as possible.
“Nothing beats representing your country, and that makes my injury even harder to swallow,” the Ajax youth product admitted.
“I’m doing my utmost to return to full match fitness, though, and to be important for Inter and Oranje once more.”
Sneijder has made 90 international appearances since his Netherlands debut in 2003, scoring 24 goals in the process.
