Ogun Police arrest two highway robbers, recover arms

Nemesis Friday caught up with two suspected highway armed robbers when the Ogun State Police Command arrested them with some locally made pistols and live cartridges on the popular long bridge along Lagos/ Ibadan Express way.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in a statement sent to newsmen in Abeokuta yesterday said the two suspects were arrested when the police who were on patrol suspected them at Kara area on the bridge .

He said that policemen who became suspicious conducted a search on them which led to the recovery of the weapons on them .

Adejobi said “it indicated the involvement of the suspects in robbery attacks on the bridge as they could not explain their mission in the area.

”It would be noticed that the Ogun State Command has since intensified patrol along the long bridge on Lagos/ Ibadan Express way to tackle the problems of robbery attacks on motorists and other road users and kidnapping in the area of the state.
