Jonathan Promises Better Education For Youths

President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to provide qualitative education to properly develop youths’ entrepreneurial skills to make them attractive to employers of labour.

Jonathan made this known yesterday while declaring open the 5th forum of laureates of the Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM) held in Abuja.

“Cognizant of the vital role education plays in national development, government is determined to provide the Nigeria people, particularly the youth, with qualitative and functional education that will not only make them darling of employers of Labour, but also entrepreneurs in both our public and private sectors of the economy,” Jonathan, who was represented by Science and Technology Minister Professor Ita Okon Bassey, said.

Speaking, the Chairman of the Governing Board of NNOM, Prof. O.S. Adegoke, lamented that despite Nigeria’s population and natural resources, the country relied on less endowed countries for education, health care and other essential materials.
