We Need Private Investment In Education - Kwankwaso

Kano State Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has called on wealthy indigenes of the state to invest in education by building schools and tertiary institutions in order to advance the socio-economic progress of the state.

The governor’s call, which was contained in a statement by his spokesman, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, was made at a meeting with members of the caretaker committee of the state chapter of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools.

“People should come and invest in all sectors for the state for mutual profit, but in my opinion, those who invest in education are the best because of the connection between education and progressive living. The state needs more private schools and even tertiary institutions in view of its huge population and teeming number of students”, he said.

While appreciating the role of private institutions in the provision of jobs besides rendering academic services, the governor according to the statement, stressed the need for such institutions to abide by government’s approved standards in their activities.
