Buhari arrives Turkey with his wife for D-8 Summit

- President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, have arrived in Turkey, to attend the upcoming D-8 Summit

- The Summit is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 20, and Buhari's aircraft touched down at the Esenboğa International Airport, Ankara, at 6.20pm

- The president was received by the Nigerian ambassador to Turkey, as well as the governor of Ankara, upon his arrival

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Turkey to take part in the Developing 8 (D-8) Summit, which is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 20, Vanguard reports.

The president arrived in Turkey, in company of his wife, Aisha, as well as other dignitaries.

Legit.ng gathers that the presidential aircraft reportedly touched down at the Esenboğa International Airport, in Ankara, the Turkish capital, at 6.20pm local time.

Upon his arrival, President Buhari and his delegation were received by the Nigerian ambassador to Turkey, Iliyasu Paragalda, as well as the governor of Ankara.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari was set to depart Nigeria for Turkey on Wednesday, October 18, to attend the Summit of the Developing 8 (D-8) which is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 20.

The president will use the occasion of the D-8 Summit to bolster warm and growing ties across a broad range of areas of cooperation with leaders of the D8-member countries.
