- Rivers police released names and pictures of suspects of the massacre in the state

The Rivers state police command has declared eight persons wanted in connection with the massacre at Mgboshimini community in Obio-Akpor local government area.
The names of the suspects and their pictures were released on Wednesday, October 11.
They were also accused of participating in the killing of one Chief Minikwu.
Nnamdi Omoni who is the spokesperson of the police command said four of the suspects are from Omoku in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area, three from Obio-Akpor while the last person is from Andoni local government area.
The spokesperson said catching the suspects is the duty of everyone in the state as “everyone owes it a moral duty to assist the police.”
The suspects reportedly stormed the community in the early hours of Monday, October 9, and killed 10 people, injuring others.

Meanwhile, Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, vowed that those responsible for the killing would be brought to justice.
His media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu, quoted the governor as saying: “This is most unfortunate,” on Tuesday, October 10, when he led members of the state security council on a visit to the affected community.
