How we ended the activities of Badoo cultists in Ikorodu - Lawmaker

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Sanai Agunbiade, has recounted how he mobilised various stakeholders to end the ritual killings by the Badoo cult group in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state, NAN reports.

Speaking during a Constituency Stakeholders Meeting on Friday, October 6, themed ‘True Representation and Accountability’, Agunbiade said he galvanised community leaders to take some ‘behind the scene’ measures that brought an end to Badoo killings in the area.

He stated: “We were troubled by Badoo, but we all played a prominent role behind the screen and Badoo killing has stopped forever.

“I also took it upon myself to stop militancy in our community.”

Giving his scorecard, Agunbiade who represents Ikorodu 1 Constituency in the Lagos state House of Assembly, said he had provided boreholes in markets, rehabilitated several roads and renovated classroom blocks in schools, including his alma mater, Jamaitul Islamiyah Primary School. Ikorodu.

He said: “We have continued to improve on our legislative competences and accomplishments over the past two years.

“We have also initiated various legislation effectively addressing challenges such as ritual killings, kidnapping, land grabbing, armed robbery and other crime-related issues."

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that in its efforts to get rid of the notorious Badoo gang, operating in the Ikorodu area of Lagos and its environs, the state police command uncovered a shrine used by members of the group.

While acting on a tip off, the policemen stormed the shrine located at the outskirts of Ikorodu town, where they found big-horned figurines and ash-colored molded figures believed to be the deities worshipped by the cult group.
