Alleged Boko Haram infiltration: Don’t panic - Akeredolu to Ondo residents

- Ondo state residents have been advised by the state government not to panic following news by a Boko Haram suspect, that members of the sect had infiltrated the state

- The state’s commissioner for information and orientation, Yemi Olowolabi, assured the residents of safety, as he stated that security agencies were prepared to prevent any breach of security

- Olowolabi stressed that the fact that the terror suspect was arrested before carrying out any attack, showed that security agents were on top of the situation

The Ondo state government has urged residents of the state not to panic, following the confession of a Boko Haram suspect, Mohammed Bashir, that members of the terror group had infiltrated the state, New Telegraph reports.

Yemi Olowolabi, the state’s commissioner for information and orientation, assured the state’s residents of safety.

NAIJ.com gathers that speaking on behalf of the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, Olowolabi assured the residents that there was no cause for alarm, as the security agencies were prepared to prevent any breach of security.

According to Olowolabi, the fact that the terror suspect had been apprehended before he had a chance to carry out attacks, showed that the security agencies were alert and adequately prepared to handle security situations in the state.

The commissioner urged residents to go about their daily activities without fear.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that Mohammed Bashir, a suspected Boko Haram member who was arrested in Ondo state, confessed to killing two persons.

The apprehended suspect further disclosed that more members of the terror sect were in the south-west state.
