Nnamdi Kanu planning to escape to Cameroon - Arewa Youths Consultative Forum

- Arewa Youths Consultative Forum has alleged that Nnamdi Kanu is plotting to flee Nigeria

- The group said it has intelligence reports that the IPOB leader is scheming to flee to Cameroon

- They alleged that Kanu's plan was to escape to Cameroon and return to his base through the Cameroon borders

The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) has alleged that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu is plotting to flee the country through the Cameroonian border.

The group claimed that it has reports that Kanu is scheming to flee to Cameroon and escape back to UK through the Cameroonian border.

Recall that Legit.ng reported that investigation shows that Nnamdi Kanu and top leaders of his group have allegedly gone into hiding following Friday’s September 15 declaration by the Nigerian army that IPOB and other Pro-Biafran groups were terrorists organisations.

Punch reports that the president of AYCF, Mallam Shettima Yerima said: “We are aware that he is scheming to find a way of escape through Cameroonian borders, which is easier for him to move and run back to where he belongs.

“He is on his way looking for how to run to Cameroon and that we are aware from our intelligence reports.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a group, the Centre for Social Justice, Equity and Transparency (CESJET) has backed the proscription of the the activities of IPOB and its declaration by the Nigerian army as a terrorist organisation.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng, the group also demanded an immediate arrest of Nnamdi Kanu.

The group lauded the Nigerian military for taking the bold step and doing the needful by declaring IPOB as a terrorist group.

CESJET also commended the southeast governors for daring to proscribe IPOB even when they are daily blackmailed politically with threats of being labeled as traitors of their ethnicity.
