Ohanaeze Ndigbo sets up monitoring committee ahead of Anambra election

- Ohanaeze Ndigbo has set up a committee to monitor the forthcoming November 18, Anambra election

- The committee is made up of a chairman and six other members

- The committee is expected to evaluate the contestants and make recommendation on which of them is a more credible choice for Anambra youths

The Pan-Igbo socio-political group Ohanaeze Ndigbo on Thursday, September 7, set up a committee to monitor the forthcoming November 18, Anambra election.

The committee which was set up by the Anambra state chapter of Ohanaeze Youth Council will focus on ensuring that the election in Anambra is credible.

The group in a statement said the committee would among many other things evaluate the contestants and make recommendation on which of them is a more credible choice for the youths of the state.

The leader of the Igbo youth group Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu charged the committee to eschew selfishness and work towards the emergence of a youth friendly governor.

He announced Chinemerem Oguegbe, the national coordinator of Anambra New Generation Vanguard, as the chairman of the six-man committee.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the political arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Movement of Biafrans in Nigeria (MOBIN) had declared its support for the former minister of aviation Osita Chidoka.

MOBIN in a statement said although it has issues with the United Progressives Party which Chidoka is a member it has nothing against the former minister.

The group also said it was sure Chidoka will be able to defeat Governor Willie Obiano.
