- Mrs. Buhari left Nigeria to join millions of Muslim in Mecca for the 2017 Hajj

Nigeria's first lady, Aisha Buhari on Tuesday, August 29, left Nigeria to Mecca, Saudi Arabia to perform the 2017 Hajj.

The personal assistant to the first lady, Zaynab Ikaz-Kassim, in a tweet said Mrs. Buhari left Abuja on Tuesday afternoon to join millions of Muslims to perform this year's Hajj.

Ikaz-Kassim said: "This Afternoon H.E Mrs. @aishambuhari left Abuja for Mecca, Saudi Arabia to join millions of Muslims in performing this year's Hajj."

Legit.ng earlier reported that the first lady returned to Nigeria after a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari during his medical vacation in London.

The first lady's trip followed her departure from Ethopia where she made a historic appearance at a meeting in Addis Ababa for the Organisation of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS meeting.

The first lady upon her return from London also thanked Nigerians for for their prayers and concern for the president.
