Former governor of Akwa Ibom, Goodswill Akpabio, has revealed that some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have decided to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Daily Independent reports that Akpabio, the current minority leader of the Senate, said the members are begging him to help them come to the PDP.
Akpabio, who spoke at the PDP comvention held in Abuja on Saturday, August 12, said some of the APC members have met with him secretly for this reason.
“I want to confess, that top APC members have been visiting me secretly in my house daily, pleading to join the party.
“They know that APC is crumbling, they are now looking for soft landing,” Akpabio said.
The senator said the PDP has now opened its doors to receive such defectors.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will take over Aso Rock from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
Fayose said this at the PDP national convention which held at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Saturday, August 12, 2017 shortly after he campaigned for presidency.

The report said that Ayodele Fayose, said he already knows he would replace President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 since the APC has shown it does not know what it is doing.
