MASSOB made the call in reaction to a purported hate song reportedly circulating in parts of the north which allegedly incites violence against people of Igbo origin.

Leader of the group, Comrade Uchenna Madu, in a statement made available to journalists in Enugu on Thursday, August 10, said the song was a reflection of the frustration, envy and jealousy being haboured by northerners.

Madu also stated that the song was clear evidence that Nigeria is doomed forever, adding that the country can never be redeemed.

He said: “This uncontrolled and loosed frustration, envy and jealousy of Arewa People through another dimension of hate song is a clear and eloquent evidence that Nigeria is doomed and doomed forever which can never be redeemed.

“They have further proved to the world that Nigeria is not and can never be one entity. We are Biafrans, Hausa Fulanis are Arewas while Yorubas are Oduduwas.

“We can never continue to deceive ourselves as if Nigeria is one because God did not create or establish us as Nigerians.

The group said it welcomed the hate songs in circulation against the Igbo people

“We have listened to the song, we have it both in audio and script. MASSOB once again remind our people residing in Hausa Fulani land to immediately commence relocation back to Biafra land because a stitch in time saves nine."

MASSOB warned that the anti-Igbo song was also targeted at other ethnic groups.

It said: “We wish to remind the people of Biafra that spreading of these Arewa hate song against Ndigbo is also targeted against other ethnic groups from eastern region of Nigeria even their Islamic Yoruba brethren are not save in Arewa land when the Arewa People will commence execution of their threat of genocides against the people of Biafra residing in their land after 1st October 2017.

“MASSOB want the hate songs to spread like wildfire not only in Arewa land but throughout Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, Bishop Abraham Udeh, general overseer of Mount Zion Faith Global Liberation Ministries in Nnewi, Anambra state has revealed why Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is calling referendum.

According to Vanguard, Udeh said Kanu’s call for referendum is right but it is unfortunate that some people are criticizing him.

Udeh on Wednesday, August 9, at his church auditorium said Kanu’s call for the boycott of the election unless a referendum was conducted should be obeyed.

Legit.ng gathered he said the call for restructuring was a waste of time and no amount of pressure would make the All Progressives Congress APC-led federal government to accept it.
