A 52-year-old woman identified as Mrs Fehintola Famakinwa, has decided to publicly solicit for funds to enable her treat her breast cancer.
Mrs Famakinwa who revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer about two years ago (2015), publicly decided to beg for funds to enable her complete treatment.
According to Vanguard, the cancer has since spread to some other parts of her body, leaving her in serious aches and pain.
In trying to take care of herself, the mother of two who used to be a caterer has reportedly sold off all her things and has been at the mercy of her former schoolmates who contributed N1m for her treatment.
Begging for funds, the University of Ibadan graduate said:
“I know Nigerians are very compassionate, and I thank them in advance. I don’t want to die. I have children to take care of. They should please help me so I could continue to be there for my children since their father left us years ago. Doctors said I need to buy a drug that would be injected into the four chemotherapy sessions I have left.
Each of those sessions cost N150,000, if my blood level remains okay. They said I have to do it in preparation for the removal of the breast (mastectomy), and the operation alone is about N400,000.
At the moment, I can’t even feed myself, not to talk of raising the money for my treatment or taking care of my children. I don’t want to die. My old classmates taking care of me have also tried their best.”
