How to stop MTN auto renewal subscription?
MTN is a great mobile carrier. It offers multiple tariffs and bundles to its customers, and their variety would satisfy even the pickiest clients. However, like many other mobile service provider, MTN is guilty of having the auto renewal feature for their various subscriptions. So today, we will tell you how to stop auto renewal on MTN on all of the MTN subscription services.
How to stop MTN auto renewal
MTN offers a very wide array of subscription services, including different promo subscriptions and features like MTN Nametunez. For most of them, you have to renew your subscription yourself. So if you tried it, did not like it and forgot about it, you would not be automatically charged for the upcoming months.
However, such features as International calling bundles and Data bundles have the auto-renewal setting turned on by default. On one hand, it is convenient, as you do not have to re-subscribe each time your subscription runs out.
On the other hand, if you want to change or cancel your subscription, but take too long to do it, you will still be charged for the next period. That is, if you have the required amount of money on your balance. Thankfully, they do not charge you if you are broke.
So what do you do?

How to stop MTN bundle auto renewal
As we have mentioned before, there are currently two services (that we know of) that use the auto-renewal feature. They are International calling bundles and Data bundles. For each kind of MTN bundle, there are specific codes you need to know to unsubscribe.
Just one more thing:
MTN also had the MTN BlackBerry Internet Service subscription, but they removed most of the info about it from the site. However, there is still a FAQ page of this service there, which leads us to believe that some customers still use it.
If you still use the subscription, but do not want to any longer, text NO to 21600. Now, without further ado, let’s go to the bundles.
International calling bundles

International calling bundles are perfect for those who have friends or relatives abroad and would like to regularly talk to them on phone. International bundles offer calls with a discount to any of 28 countries. But you probably knew that already if you wanted to unsubscribe, right?
In order to unsubscribe, you need to remember what bundle you have subscribed for in the first place. There are currently three bundles on offer:
★ IDB300, which costs ₦300 and gives you 20 minutes for international calls;
★ IDB500, which costs ₦500 and gives you 40 minutes;
★ IDB1500, which costs ₦1500 and gives you 150 minutes.
If you want to cancel auto-renewal on your International bundle, send a text to a short number 131, which says NoIDB****. Instead of **** you should put in the number of your bundle.
Data bundles
MTN has great data bundles, ranging from daily to quarterly plans. If you are wondering how to stop MTN data auto renewal, it is just as simple as with the International bundles. All you have to do is to remember (or check) what bundle you currently have. Below, you can find a helpful list of all the MTN Data bundles that currently exist.
★ Daily plans: 50MB for ₦100 (code 104); 150MB for ₦200 (code 113).
★ Weekly plans: 150MB for ₦300 (code 102); 500MB (+250 bonus MB for night browsing) for ₦500 (code 103).
★ Monthly plans: 1GB (+500 bonus MB) for ₦1000 (code 106); 2,5GB (+1 bonus GB) for ₦2000 (code 110); 5GB for ₦3,500 (code 107); 10GB for ₦5,000 (code 116); 22GB for ₦10,000 (code 117).
★ 60 days plan: 50GB for ₦20,000 (code 118).
★ Quarterly plan (90 days): 85GB for ₦50,000 (code 133).
Look carefully through the list of bundles, find the code for your bundle and send a text that says NO*** to 131, and replace the *** with the number of your bundle.
XtraValue bundles
We almost forgot that MTN also has a tariff called XtraValue, which features voice and data bundles. It, too, has the auto-renewal feature on. There are just too many bundles to list here, so kindly consult the image above if you forgot the code for your bundle. You can find it in the 'How to subscribe' row.
If you want to stop the auto-renewal on any of your bundles, send a text that says NObundlecode to 131. For example, if you want to cancel your subscription to the V5000 bundle, your text should say NOV5000.
