UPDATED: Presidential jet still parked in London airport - Sahara Reporters

- The Presidential jet is said to have departed from London

- The media team of the president however denied having knowledge of the development

- The authenticity of the jet's departure however as at the time of filing this report could not be ascertained

Contrary to earlier reports that the Presidential jet has departed from London, new information has emerged that the jet is still parked at Standsted airport in London.

According to Sahara Reporters, the jet has not been moved since May 8.

Legit.ng had earlier reported that Vanguard in a report said that the Presidential jet in London has departed the country on August 1.

According to the news outlet, the whereabouts or destination of the jet could not be ascertained which consequently caused anxiety within the presidential villa

Vanguard also reports that the Presidency denied having awareness of the development as both media aides to the president, Femi Adesina and Garba Lawal claimed such news should be regarded as a rumour

Mr Adesina who denied knowledge of the development according to Vanguard said: “BBC also called me and said the president’s aircraft had taken off, I should confirm it. I said the tradition is that if the president is coming, we will be asked to issue a statement but there has been no such instruction.”

Vanguard however submitted that "as at the time of filing this report late Tuesday night, there was no confirmation to the effect that the presidential aircraft had left London and there was no movement within the Presidential Villa to support the rumour."

According to viral reports online, it costs a whooping £4000 every 24 hours to use a parking lot. This has raised concerned in the minds of Nigerians as to why the aircraft is 'waiting' for the president to get well.

Some also concluded that if the aircraft is in a parking lot, waiting for the president to be fine, it means the crew members are also in London.
