Oyegun receives report on amendment to APC constitution

- The APC constitution review committee submits report to John Odigie-Oyegun ahead of the party’s non-elective national convention

- John Odigie-Oyegun says the report will be deliberated by the party’s national working committee (NWC) and subsequently by the national executive committee (NEC) before it is finally put before the convention for final approval

The All Progressives Congress (APC) 10-member constitution review committee has submitted its report containing 85 proposals for amendment of the party’s constitution to the party’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun.

The submission of the report comes ahead of the scheduled APC non-elective national convention.

The party in a press release on Friday, July 28, stated that the report was submitted by the chairman of the committee and APC national legal adviser, Dr. Muiz Banire (SAN) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday evening, July 27.

According to the statement, Muiz Banire was accompanied by other committee members, including APC national organising secretary, Sen. Osita Izunaso and member, House of Representatives, Hon. Asabe Vilita Bashir.

The chairman of the party’s constitution review committee said the committee had six working sessions after which a three-day retreat to consider the final report and analysis.

Speaking after receiving the report, the APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun said the report will be deliberated by the party’s national working committee (NWC) and subsequently by the national executive committee (NEC) before it is finally put before the convention for final approval.

Meanwhile, John Odigie-Oyegun, has said only President Muhammdu Buhari can say when he’ll return to Nigeria.

Oyegun made the statement on Thursday evening, July 27, when speaking with journalist at the APC national secretariat.

He said the president is recovering very strongly and getting as much rest as he can to build up his energy, Premium Times reports.
