Pro-Biafra supporters welcome Nnamdi Kanu in Owerri

- Pro-Biafra supporters reportedly in their millions welcomed IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu to the Owerri

Large numbers of pro-Biafra supporters have trooped-out to welcome leader the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in the Imo state capital, Owerri.

According to a post on Facebook by Somto Okonkwo, the supporters who were reportedly in their millions, came out to welcome the IPOB leader during his visit to Owerri on Friday, July 28.

Speaking on Kanu's visit, the Biafra Radio in a statement said the IPOB leader's visit to Owerri was part of his visit to Biafran territories geared towards preaching of the gospel of the Restoration of Biafra.

The statement added that Kanu was also there to educate the Biafran people on the need to boycott all elections in Biafra territories until the Nigerian government announces a date for the Biafra referendum.

Meanwhile, IPOB has said the total rejection of restructuring of the country by the members of the Senate is the indication to all and sundry that Nigeria can never be united.

The group in the statement obtained by Legit.ng on Thursday, July 27, stated that the rejection restructuring by the Senate had vindicated its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB by rejecting restructuring the of Nigeria.

Spokesperson for the group, Emma Powerful, said IPOB remains the only legitimate voice that understands the plight of the masses.

The group said that only a referendum can resolve the issue of Biafra not restructure. It remains the only way the masses can decide their future in Nigeria.
