Jigawa governor Badaru will regret sending me to prison - Lamido

Nigerians are no longer happy they voted for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015, former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido has said.
Lamido, believed to be gunning for 2019 presidency, urged all aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to return because the party was getting stronger ahead of future elections.
Legit.ng learnt that he called the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) a disaster to Nigerians.
“Reasonable Nigerians are regretting for voting APC into power,” he said.

The Supreme Court recently knocked out Ali Modu Sheriff and granted the chairmanship of the party to Ahmed Makarfi.
Speaking on Thursday, July 20, at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the party secretariat in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa state, Lamido said the some members were making efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and bring them back home.
Some of these members are in the Senate, the House of Representatives and other offices.
“The pattern of APC leadership lacks focus and direction as the party is a combination of minor political parties that have no good manifestos and prominent politicians that cannot take the country to the promise land.
“The PDP would soon hold an emergency stakeholders meeting on the possibility to extend the tenure of caretakers leadership of the party from 12 August to next three months to allow for a better restructuring of the party ahead of 2019 general elections,” he reportedly said while adding that the Jigawa governor, Muhammad Abubakar Badaru, would soon regret sending him to prison.

"As a father in Jigawa, sending me to Kiyawa prison by the present governor Badaru is an insult to all Jigawa people, and I am assuring you that the governor must regret taking this action, and to me as politician, jail is nothing but rather just a fashion,” he said.
Legit.ng had reported that after the Supreme Court ruling putting an end to the leadership battle in the Peoples Democratic Party, stakeholders of the party met on July 18 at the National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza.
According to a statement signed by the party's head of publicity division, Chinwe I. Nnorom, the meeting was well attended by high chieftains of the party.
