Kanu made the statement on Tuesday, July 18, when he addressed a huge crowd of Biafra activists when he visited Nri, the ancestral home of Ndigbo, Vanguard reports.

The IPOB leader who was in the company of his wife however, vowed to resist the plan to Islamise any part of Igbo land, adding that such an “evil agenda” will not succeed in his life time.

“The Islamisation plot is real but they won’t succeed in my life time. No, never; not when I am alive.

“The struggle for Biafra which I proudly lead is not a secessionist aspiration of NdiIgbo only as some erroneously think. Biafra is not just a living agitation but a fight for the survival of Christians in Nigeria against the entrenched threats of radical Islamic fundamentalists and their political collaborators within and outside Nigeria”, Kanu said.

The IPOB leader assured Christians in the north that he would not abandon them after actualizing Biafra.

Kanu said he would also defend them against any imposition of religious faith against their will.

The IPOB leader reiterated his opposition to the November 18 Anambra governorship poll, insisting that no election will be allowed in Biafra land beginning with the Anambra election.

He urged the crowd to remain indoors and be non-violent on the day of the coming election.

“If you want Biafra to be restored, sit at home on November 18. I am not saying you should fight or take up arms; rather you will see Biafra emerging like the rising sun very soon,” Kanu urged supporters.

Nri which Kanu visited is regarded as the ancestral home of Ndigbo, the IPOB leader also visited the historic “Ohianwehi” revered as “forest of life” by Igbo tradition.

It is believed that it was where the first burnt offering was scarified by the Jewish Igbo ancestors when they migrated from Israel about 300 years ago.

Meanwhile, the Anambra state Police Commissioner, Garba Umar, has warned that security agencies in the state would deal decisively with any group that threatens to disrupt the upcoming governorship election in the state.

Legit.ng gathered that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had recently asked people to boycott elections in the state and the South East in general until a referendum is granted by the Federal Government.

However, Umar, in a statement he issued after a meeting of the Heads of security agencies in Anambra state said such directive would not be tolerated.

Umar warned that security agents will not fold its arm and watch “disgruntled elements truncate” the peace in the state which they are working assiduously to maintain.
