Attack by suspected Badoo member averted in Ikorodu (photos)

- An attack by members of the Badoo group was averted on Friday July 14

An attack by a suspected member of the dreaded Badoo group was averted in Ikorodu area of Lagos on Friday July 14.

A Facebook page dedicated to residents of Ikorodu said the cultists had planned to launch an attack on Eyita Diasi Okeowo Street in Ikorodu.

Legit.ng gathered that cloth and mortar was found in the location where the cultist hid in an uncompleted building in the area.

The post said: "Glory be to God for saving us in our area from the attack of BADOO GANG yesterday, 14th of July 2017. These pictures of cloth and mortar you see here was found where a Suspected Badoo Gang Member sat and hid himself in an uncompleted building."

"At about 10:30 pm, When PHCN took the power, my neighbour decided to check and search around his house, that was how he saw the suspected Badoo Gang Member in an uncompleted building beside his apartment without wearing any cloth. Immediately he saw my neighbour, he ran away.

"Then my neighbour raised an alarm and call for help, people gathered and started chasing him, the Badoo suspect jumped over nine fence but men in the neighborhood surrounded the area to search for him, fortunately he was caught and was handed over to the police. This incident happened in Eyita, Diasi Okeowo Street, Ikorodu in case you'd like to confirm," the post said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that officers of the Nigeria Police Force arrested 87 members of the cultist group popularly called Badoo.

The cultists are know to operate around Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

The members of the cult group are also said to have been responsible for various criminal activities in the area.
