I didn’t congratulate Makarfi over Supreme Court victory – Ali Modu-Sheriff

- Ali Modu-Sheriff has denied reports that he sent a congratulatory message to the leader of the party Ahmed Makarfi

- Sheriff said he does not have a Twitter account

- He also said the reports make rounds that he congratulated Makarfi is fake and mischievous

The embattled national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ali Modu-Sheriff on Friday, July 14, denied reports that he sent a congratulatory message to the leader of the party Ahmed Makarfi.

Sheriff in a statement released the former spokesperson for the faction Bernard Mikko said the reports making ground that Sheriff congratulated Makarfi faction was fake and mischievous.

Mikko said the reports were only circulated by evil doers within the PDP as the sacked PDP chairman does not have a twitter account.

He said: "Our attention has been drawn to a fake congratulatory message credited to an imaginary Twitter handle of Sen (Dr) Ali Modu Sheriff, the immediate past PDP National Chairman."

“For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff do not have or own a twitter account and could not have tweeted any message.

“We therefore view the said message as fake and mischievous and should be discountenanced as that of evildoers,” Mikko said.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the sacked PDP national chairman said he was shocked at the Supreme Court's ruling on the matter between him, four others and the party.

Sheriff while reacting to the ruling had reportedly said he awaits briefing from his lawyers on the court's judgement while asking loyal party members to remain calm and steadfast.
