Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed delight over the victory of the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Supreme Court, saying it signaled the rise of the party.
A five man justice panel had kicked out Senator Ali Modu Sherriff and confirmed Makarfi as the true chairman of the party in a judgement delivered on Wednesday, July 12.
Appearing on Politic Today on Channels television, Fani-Kayode said the judgement of the Supreme Court was a victory for democracy.
The PDP member said millions of Nigerians were rejoicing as it means the opposition party will soon defeat the All Progressives Congress.
Fani-Kayode insisted that Nigerians cannot afford to trust the government of President Muhammadu Buhari anymore.

NAIJ.com had earlier reported that Supreme Court declared Makarfi's group as authentic faction of the PDP after months of legal battle between his faction and Ali-Modu Sheriff's faction.
The five man panel of the apex court led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, in its judgment delivered, reinstated Makarfi who was earlier sacked by the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal, as the National Caretaker Committee.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) national publicity secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, has said that the party is not threatened by who becomes the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
