A report by Leadership indicates that Honourable Terhemen Tarzoor escaped an assassination attempt on his life on Tuesday, July 11.
According to the report, hoodlums attacked the politician at Yandev, Gboko local government area of Benue state.
Sources quoted in the report said the hoodlums came in three buses and invaded an eating joint behind the Aperan Orshi College of Agriculture, Yandev where Tarzoor and his friends, who are lecturers at the institution were hanging out.

Several people were reportedly injured during the fracas, while supporters of the politician were said to have smuggled him into a hiding place until the hoodlums left the scene.
Speaking on the incident, Tarzoor said the hoodlums stormed the place few minutes after he arrived Yandev on the invitation of his friends.
His words: “The hoodlums were suspected to be thugs of All Progressive Congress, APC, who appeared in three vehicles less than ten minutes after my arrival and unleashed terror on me, my friends and those who were within the vicinity.
“I narrowly escaped from these thugs following the intervention of well meaning individuals who swiftly smuggled me into an undisclosed destination, while the attack lasted the thugs beat up several people, inflicted injuries on many persons and destroyed properties.”
He however called on all his supporters to remain calm and charged elders, political leaders and stakeholders in the state to see themselves as bridge builders and not destroyers.
In his reaction, the state chairman of APC, Honourable Aba Yaro said he was not aware of the attack.
He added that neither the former governorship candidate nor the PDP was a threat to the APC in the 2019 governorship elections.
When contacted, the state police public relations officer, ASP Moses Yamu who confirmed the incidence however said the matter is under investigation.
Meanwhile, an APC chieftain in Abia state, Chief Nduka Anyanwu has raised an alarm accusing the PDP in the state of desperation and sinister plots.
Anyanwu, a former member of the APC'National Executive Committee, made this known when he hosted a meeting of members of Abia Central senatorial district of the party in his Ossa Ibeku home in Umuahia North local government area of the state.
According to Anyanwu, the plot is aimed at “weakening the growing membership of the party as credible alternative to the ruling party in the state ahead of the 2019 general election which we (the APC) are sure of victory.”
