Another era for transportation as Lagos gets new ‘danfo’ buses

- Lagos has gotten new buses which are set to replace the current 'Danfo' buses plying various routes in the state

- The buses are painted blue and white with bold inscriptions on the sides signaling a new era for transportation in Lagos

- Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has embarked on a campaign to modernize Lagos and this latest development is part of those efforts

New transport buses aka ‘Danfo’ have arrived Lagos state.

The buses have this inscription on their sides: The New Lagos Danfo Bus.

The arrival of the new buses, is part of the ongoing efforts of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to modernize the state.

The development was made public on the twitter handle of the All Progressives Congress Youth Frontier South West Geopolitical Zone (@apcyouthomoodua) on Friday, July 7.

The tweet read: “[NEW LAGOS]The new Lagos Danfo Buses. Watch out.....Itesiwaju Eko.... @deleyewilliams @AkinwunmiAmbode @stevoree @followlasg @LagosWatchdogs”

The new blue and white buses are set to replace the yellow and black ones which currently ply various routes within the metropolis.

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state, on Monday, February 6 insisted that there were plans afoot to remove yellow buses popularly known as Danfo from Lagos roads.

The reason for this, he said was to ensure, a more efficient, well-structured and world class mass transportation system that would facilitate ease of movement within the city.

Ambode said that his administration would soon roll out a comprehensive environmental sanitation policy that would make the city to be clean without much burden on the people in terms of taxes.
