The governor of Osun state Rauf Aregbesola has said that a younger brother to late Senator Isiaka Adeleke is begging him to waive tax of his university in the state.
Adedeji, the father to Nigeria musician Davido, is the the founder of Adeleke University, Ede, Oun state.
Aregbesola who spoke at the campaign Mudashir Husain the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the Osun West Senatorial election accused the Adeleke's family of using their late brother's death to manipulate the minds of the people of Ede community.
He also claimed that the Adeleke's family fell out with the Osun state government after the death of Senator Isiaka.
He alleged that the Adeleke family, since the death of the Senator, have fabricated lies over their activities in the state.
Aregbesola said: "Deji Adeleke does not have the financial capacity to bail out Osun from its financial challenges even before now, not to talk about lending us money to pay workers’ salaries."
“If anything at all, it is their family that sought and got favours from the Osun state government under my watch. It is to the glory of God that they got the certificate of occupancy of their university from our government. Why didn’t those who are their new friends give them C of O of that university?
“If Deji Adeleke has so much money, why is he begging me to waive the payable tax of his university? Why cant he just pay?" the governor asked.
He also denied have begged any member of the Adeleke family for assistance.

“I am bold enough to say this over and over again, because I have never sought for assistance from any of the Adeleke’s family even during the life time of Senator Isiaka Adeleke, nothing as such occurred," the governor added.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that the governor said the late Adeleke was a personal friend to him.
Aregbesola also said Isiaka played an influential rile in his re-election as the governor of Osun state.
He further describe the late senator as charismatic politician who was very generous to all and sundry.
