The annual Power Oil WalkHeartOn 3.0 event has been announced to kick off in a couple of days, a health fitness walk instituted exactly 3 years ago by Power Oil, the Nigerian No.1 choice vegetable cooking oil to promote a healthy lifestyle and remind Nigerians on the benefits of a daily fitness routine.

It is a heart health awareness project aimed at encouraging everyone to walk at least 30 mins every day, the initiative mobilises people to walk 5 kilometres in the targeted states.

This information was made available during the media parley held at the Power Oil head office in Surulere, with the attendance of few celebrities who have been contracted to join in on the project to make the third edition of the epic walk more exciting and fun filled for participants across the 5 key cities where the event will be taking place in a couple of weeks.

According to the statement made during the media parley by the Public Relations Manager, Miss. Omotayo Azeez, who confirmed that the Power Oil WalkHeartOn 3.0 themed; “Walk For The Heart” will be happening across 5 major cities; Lagos, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Abuja & Ibadan; kicking off from the second Saturday in July in Lagos into the third Saturday.

“The Healthy Walk kicks off in Lagos on the 8th of July, while Enugu and Port Harcourt holds simultaneously the following weekend, then Abuja & Ibadan will simultaneously conclude the activity on 23rd of July. There are few renowned artistes/ comedians specially picked because of their popularity in these regions to perform at this event and also to take the healthy walk along with the people. We have MC Bonus, Funnybone, Sound Sultan, Woli Arole, Sanyari , Mr. Raw and Nice on board to add spice to the fitness activities”, She said.

Also the brand will be having in attendance representatives from the Nigerian Heart Foundation and few other state ministries in these regions.

It was also confirmed that at each location, Power Oil health camp will be available to offer free basic medical checks for participants to ascertain their health statuses, including blood pressure, BMI and general medical consultation.

Ijeoma Opara, the Brand Communications Manager, Power Oil, said beyond the exciting activities lined up, refreshments will also be made available to everyone. There will be water and glucose to replenish lost energy and most importantly, freshly made finger foods being prepared on the spot in order for people to see and experience the quality of the brand.

The artistes and comedians expressed their excitement having being brought on board to be a part of the project, especially now that fitness is the new trend, they are looking forward to making it fun for participants by putting up best of performances and also join in the walk to further encourage the people.

It will be recalled that the Power Oil WalkHeartOn Health awareness project started in 2015 in Lagos to promote fitness and healthy living amongst Nigerians, in the following year 2016; it further expanded into 5 cities across the nation (Lagos, Ibadan, Owerri, PHC and Abuja). This is the third edition.
