- National Assembly receives a petition from former First Lady, Patience Jonathan
- The former first lady alleges that security agencies are harassing her family members
The House of Representatives on Thursday, July 6, received a petition from former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan.
In the petition presented to the House by Hon. Gogo Bright, the former first lady alleged that she and her family members were “incessantly harassed” by security agencies.
NAIJ.com previously reported that the House of Representatives summoned former President Goodluck Jonathan to testify in the ongoing investigations into the Malabu Oil deal.
An anonymous lawmaker said Jonathan was the president and commander in chief when the alleged fraud was committed.
“The committee is going to ask the President to tell us what he knows about the Malabu deal and educate us on how he could claim ignorance of what ministers he appointed were doing on his behalf, particular, when they claimed he gave the approval for such," the source noted.
