Osinbajo holds successful bilateral meeting with President Faure Gnassingbé of Togo

- Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is currently attending the African Union summit holding in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

- The minister of foreign affairs Geoffrey Onyeama said Osinbajo had a successful bilateral meeting with the president of Togo

- Osinbajo who is chairing the summit, has urged African leaders to ensure that they don’t bequeath the burden of wars, poverty and misery to the next generation of Africans

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo concluded a successful bilateral meeting with the Togolese President Faure E Gnassingbé on Tuesday, July 4.

The announcement was made by the minister for foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, via his twitter handle, @GeoffreyOnyeama.

He tweeted: “Successful bilateral meeting with the President of Togo, Faure E Gnassingbé with Ag President @ProfOsinbajo . @FEGnassingbe @AsoRock”

The meeting comes amidst Osinbajo’s trip to Ethiopia, where he is chairing the African Union (AU) summit holding in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

During the session of AU Heads of State, Osinbajo asked the African leaders gathered to “rekindle our political will and determination not to bequeath to the next generation of Africans the burden of wars, poverty and misery”.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Yemi Osinbajo led Nigeria’s delegation to the 27th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) which held from July 16 to 18, 2016, in Kigali, Rwanda.

The minister of foreign affairs, Goeffrey Onyeama, disclosed that the summit would afford Nigeria the opportunity to showcase the successes recorded by the current administration and also provide opportunity for critical appraisal of the 20 billion dollar Nigeria-Algeria trans-Saharan gas pipeline project under the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD).
