- Dangote has been praised by labour leaders in Nigeria for creating jobs and revenue
- The praise comes following his fresh investments in automobile and agriculture in Nigeria
- The Dangote group investment in scores of sectors in Africa has been hailed as patriotic
Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and the Chief Executive of Dangote Group has received praise from Nigerian labour leaders.
The organized labour in Nigeria has commended Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his fresh investments in the automobile and agriculture sectors of the country.
He was also praised for promoting investments and creating thousands of direct and indirect youth employments across the country and in Africa.
According to Vanguard, they said Dangote’s patriotism when it comes to investment in many sectors is a major factor behind Nigeria’s improving economy.
At the 5th Triennial National Delegates Conference of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) in Abuja, many spoke highly of him.
Vice-President of the Geneva-based global union, the IndustrialALL, and the Secretary General of the National Textile Garment Workers Union, Comrade Issa Aremu, who represented former Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the guest speaker, lamented that others who should have invested in the country are stashing their money abroad and thus denying the nation the much needed investment.
Comrade Aremu said Nigeria would have been an industrial giant in Africa if the nation could boast of more people like Dangote whose preoccupation would be to invest and create jobs for the teeming populace.
Aremu, a member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), also commended other compatriots who, he said, joined Dangote by rising in defence of national unity in the wake of discordant and divisive voices by some misguided youths.

Aremu pointed out that following the crash in the global oil prices, it was not the right time to invest in Africa, but Dangote group with investment in scores of sectors in Africa had been doing so “even at a time it was not fashionable and even risky to do so.”
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Dangote decried the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria. The businessman said the number of unemployed youths in Nigeria gives him sleepless nights.
Speaking at a meeting with a team of business executives from the Lagos Business School, Dangote said unemployment in Nigeria has become an eyesore and must be tackled through collective efforts.
