- The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed Governor Fayose's allegation about Buhari
- The party called on the governor to provide evidence to back up his claim
- The outspoken Ekiti state governor had alleged that the president has been on a life-support facility since June 6 in London
Following the allegation made by governor Ayodele Fayose that President Buhari is on a life support facility in London, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the governor to provide evidence to back up his claim.
Governor Fayose who berated the president's media handlers for not disclosing Buhari's health status alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari has been on a life-support facility since June 6, at a West-End, London Hospital.
However, while reacting to the allegation, spokesman for the ruling party, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the governor’s comments were mere “tales”.
According to reports, Abdullahi said: “I don’t have such information on the health status of the president as spokesman of the APC. If the governor is saying he has it, I don’t have it.
“All I know is what is in the public domain. If Fayose has such information and he is making it available, I think people should ask him how he got it.
“I only hope he is not celebrating that his prophesy is coming to pass. I hope that is not why he is gleefully announcing it because if that is what he is doing, it is no longer politics. It is about our common humanity.”
Meanwhile, in their reaction, the Buhari Media Group condemned the statement made by the Ekiti state governor.
The group said Fayose's position on President Muhammadu Buhari is a "cacophony of lies".
The BMSG in a statement signed by its chairman and secretary Austin Braimoh and Cassidy Madueke said the comments by Fayose did not come as a surprise to the group.
