Nigerian soldiers discover and destroy fake oil depot in Rivers state

- Troops of 146 Battalion, 16 Brigade Nigerian Army, have reportedly carried out an operation on suspected armed bandits terrorizing residents of Ogbolo-Ogbolo in Rivers state

- Reports however stated that the suspects fled the scene, before troops arrival, but they recovered 2 locally made gun loaded with cartridges, and 3 machetes

Troops of 146 Battalion, 16 Brigade Nigerian army, have discovered an illegal oil deport in Sucrcho-Kalarogbana Rivers state.

The soldiers discovered the illegal oil dumb as they were on routine patrol on Wednesday June 28.

The items recovered include 1 Cooking pot, 2 Storage tanks (iron and plastic) loaded with suspected stolen crude oil, 1 Cylinder, and a pumping machine.

NAIJ.com gathered that on the same day, troops stationed at Forward Operation Base Ahoada, arrested a suspected cultist.

And the items recovered from the suspect include local charms and substances suspected to be mari*juana. The suspect has been handed over to SARS at Erema for further interrogation.

The troops also made an attempt to arrest a suspected kidnappers that wanted to who wanted to attack traders at Omoku market.

It was however learnt that the suspects fled the scene, before troops arrival, but the troops recovered 2 Locally made gun loaded with cartridges, and 3 Machetes.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com earlier reported that two illegal refineries was discovered in Warri, Delta state at a time Nigeria was battling with its own reportedly performing below their expected daily outputs.

The discovery was made by troops of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) in what Abubakar Abdullahi, the major coordinator of the Joint Media Campaign Centre (JMCC), described as efforts to protect oil and gas infrastructure in the Niger Delta.
