Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen Biography

He was born on December 22, 1950. His town of birth is Okurike. He was a student of Presbyterian Primary School. However, he attended the secondary school in Ghana. In this country, he took his West African Examination Council. Later he became a student of Accra Academy, where he studied for two years.

The Alma Mater of the Chief Justice of Nigeria 2017 is the University of Ghana. There he studied for two years to get his Bachelor Degree in Law. He was a very hardworking student. He was awarded a diploma.

The Chief Judge of Nigeria continued his education at the Nigerian Law School in Lagos. It was necessary to get his B.L. certificate. After that, he started his career.

- 1988-1989. He left Effiom and became a principal partner at Walter Onnughen and Associates.

- 1989-1998. He was a Judge in Cross River State Judiciary. It was his first experience in the Judge position.

- 1998-2005. Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen worked in the Court of Appeal.

- 2005-2017. He started working at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

- 07.03.2017. He was appointed as the Chief Justice Nigeria 2017.
