Notorious robbery gang led by 22-year-old arrested in Lagos (photos)

- Nigeria police have picked up notorious robbers causing havoc along the Badagry/Seme border of Lagos

- The gang of robbers was led by 22-year-old Rasaq Lawa a native of Lalate in Oyo state

- The police recovered from the robbers one Ak47 rifle, one locally made single barrel pistol, one locally made double barrel pistol, among others

A notorious gang of robbers terrorizing Nigerians along the Badagry/Seme border of Lagos have been arrested by the Nigeria police.

A report by Daily Post said the gang which is led by a 22-year-old boy were defeated a few months ago after attacking Garba Usman and Akubo Ibrahim, where they dispossessed them of their 2006 Toyota Corolla and Lexus 350 SUV and other valuables.

NAIJ.com gathered that the two men are both officers of the Nigerian customs service.

The suspects are Tunji Adesanya, a native of Odojomo in Ondo State, Rasaq Lawal, 22 the gang leader, a native of Lalate in Oyo state, Hammed Lawal, 24, a native of Lalate in Oyo State.

Others suspects are Olanrewaju Wasiu 29, a notorious eiye confraternity member, a native of Ilorin in Kwara state, Kenneth Ohmai 39 years, a native of Benin in Edo state and Ibrahim Aliu 26, a native of Omuaran in Kwara State.

Kyari said: “The suspects confessed to the armed robbery attacks on Mr Garba Babayaro and Akubo Idris respectively and several armed robbery attacks in Badagry/Seme areas of Lagos.

One Ak47 rifle, one locally made single barrel pistol, one locally made double barrel pistol, four Ak47 rifle magazines with 84 live ammunitions and one Beretta pistol magazine with 10 rounds of live 9mm ammunitions were recovered from the gang.”

He added that serious effort to arrest other fleeing gang members was in progress.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com alleged billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, better known as Evans, warned his colleagues in the business to desist from it.

"My advise to them is that as they are watching me standing here with policemen, they should stop everything about that, it doesn’t pay," Evans reportedly said after leading police operatives to two of the houses where he kept his victims until they could pay ransoms.

The alleged kidnapper reportedly paid 700,000 yearly for one of the apartments, a three bedroom flat.
