MASSOB disowns Uwazuruike, opens up on why Nnamdi Kanu left him

- Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra has dissociated itself from the visit of Ralph Uwazuruike to Kaduna state

- MASSOB in a statement said Uwazuruike had lost the trust and confidence of Igbo people

- The group also revealed why IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu left Uwazuruike

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on Wednesday, June 14, dissociated itself from the visit of the leader of the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) Ralph Uwazuruike to Kaduna state.

NAIJ.com gathered that the group also revealed why leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, left Uwazuruike.

The group in a statement signed by MASSOB leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, said Uwazuruike was on his own because he was incapable of ensuring genuine representation of the people of Biafra on such a delicate matter.

The MASSOB leader said it was very shameful for Uwazuruike to claim to be speaking for Ndigbo after he lost the confidence of the people, adding that he is a confused person.

“We have made it clear to the people of Biafra that there is nothing like MASSOB/BIM or BIM/ MASSOB. Our people should not allow themselves to be deceived by Uwazuruike’s antics.

“We are MASSOB, while Uwazuruike is BIM. Uwazuruike’s visit to Kaduna for a meeting with our oppressors and enemies of Biafra that had been romancing with him since 2013, is another open evidence that he is not working for Ndigbo or Biafrans.

“MASSOB advises members of BIM who still believe in genuine struggle for Biafra actualization and restoration to immediately leave Uwazuruike’s BIM now and rejoin MASSOB to regain their pride,” Madu said.

Madu also said that allegation by Uwazuruike that he sacked Nnamdi Kanu from MASSOB was baseless.

He maintained that it was Kanu that left him when he found out that Uwazuruike was not sincere with the actualization of Biafra.

The MASSOB leader alleged that the Arewa groups were using Uwazuruike for media propaganda and to create a confusion among Igbos.

In a previous report by NAIJ.com, Uwazurike appealed for peace between the Igbos and the northerners.

The MASSOB factional leader who led a delegation of Igbo leaders from the South East, told some youth groups in Kaduna on Monday that MASSOB had pursued the path of peace since its creation in 1999.

He assured of the safety of the northerners resident in the South East and urged them to continue with their businesses in the area.
