The people who came out in their hundreds to participate in the exercise, voiced their anger over what they termed the 'bad representation' of the senator.'

Many were still waiting in the long queue with their voters card to sign the document as at the time NAIJ.com left the polling unit.
An All Progressives Congress (APC) member in the ward, Comrade Ahmed Mohammed said, “We are participating in this exercise because of the bad representation of our senator, Dino Melaye.
“All he does is to castigate and abuse the people’s mind against the government of APC, not only the state government, including the federal government of General Muhammadu Buhari. So, we are tired of that.”
NAIJ.com gathered that the people in the Lokoja/Koton Karfe axis are particularly miffed at the sentator for allegedly abandoning them even though their votes gave him the mandate to get to the upper chamber.
The senator reportedly lost in his own local government at the 2015 National Assembly elections and in the Yoruba speaking areas of the senatorial district.
“When you vote for someone, you need to achieve and arrange the community or the society. Since Dino did not reconcile, he did not even show his face, you can’t even near him, even to talk to him, he will off his phone, we do not need him again, let him go!” APC women leader in the ward, Mrs Usman Hauwa told NAIJ.com.
At Koton-Karfe local government headquarters, the crowd at the secretariat to append their signatures to the recall process was massive.
The process was personally led by the caretaker chairman of the local government, Honourable Mohammed Tanko Musa, popularly referred to as Osuku.
Speaking to NAIJ.com, the chairman said: “We have lost confidence completely with that senator. He is not representing the western senatorial district based on the votes he has earned.
“Our yearnings and aspirations have been quibbled. He has refused to do the needful rather he has engaged this nation to a battleground whereby, he is insulting the person of Mr President, President Muhammadu Buhari,
“People of Kogi West Senatorial District and Kogi Koton Karfe are decent people. We did not vote for him to go and be confrontational with our president. The president we love so much.
“Every civilised person, like us in Kogi Koton Karfe local government have no any other option but to recall him, and that is why we are not relenting in our efforts in recalling him.
“In no distant time, INEC will be called upon to do the needful; verify the signatures of those that have signed this documents. We are all ready!”
