Ex-governor Sullivan Chime has accused Senator Ike Ekweremadu of holding political position in a bid to enrich himself and his family.

Chime made the assertion at Ngwo-Uno ward, in Udi Council Area of Enugu state.

The ex-governor was in the area to join in the celebration of the defection of Chief Donald Nnadi, popularly called “Ikeweta‎”.

Ikeweta defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chime, who congratulated the latest decampee for taking a bold decision to leave PDP, reinstated his stand that the party died long ago.

The ex-governor noted that many politicians like Ekweremadu occupy a particular elective position for too long due to greed and fear of the unknown.
