Hoodlums have reportedly stabbed one person to death and injured many others in an attack following disagreement between a tipper driver and some hoodlums at Oworonshoki area of Lagos state.
Officers from Oworonshoki police station later arrested three people for their alleged involvement in the attack while other suspects are being questioned at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) in Yaba.
Reports have it that the hoodlums went from street to street smashing vehicle windscreens and destroying shops before some of them were arrested by the police.
NAIJ.com gathered that the chaos started on Wednesday night, May 17 and ended on Thursday, May 18, when anti-riot policemen and soldiers arrived on the scene.
According to an eyewitness, trouble started when some toll-collecting touts operating in the area demanded for an undisclosed amount of money from a tipper driver who was delivering granite to a location in the area. The driver however refused.
The eyewitness said the money that the driver did not give them caused the chaos.
He said the driver chose not to give the touts money because some set of gangs had earlier collected an undisclosed amount from him.
‘’Those who had first collected money from the tipper driver stormed the place with guns, clubs and machetes.
‘’They stabbed someone on the neck and the victim bled to death before help could come his way,” the eyewitness said.
It was said that policemen allegedly shot a man at the Eko-re end when they were trying to make sure that everything return to normalcy in the area
A set of thugs reportedly launched another attack at the Eko-re end area.

The tragic incident happened on Friday, January 22 when the hoodlums allegedly killed the victim while assuring panicking resident that they were not ready to take innocent lives.
