Reno Omokri reacts to Junaid Mohammed's threat over Buhari's health

Reno Omokri reacts to Junaid Mohammed's threat over Buhari's health

- President Muhammadu Buhari's health is still a major topic in Nigeria

- The president's fragile health has also sparked up political debates across the country

- A recent comment from a northern politician concerning the issue has been generating reactions

Ex-presidential aide, Pastor Reno Omokri has condemned the recent declaration by northern politician, Junaid Mohammed, that the north will insist on another eight years if anything happens to President Buhari.

Omokri slammed Mohammed for contemplating that something might happen to Buhari instead of praying for his recovery.

He however said if anything happens to the president, it is the Nigerian constitution that will dictate what will happen next and not Mohammed or Northern Nigeria.

''For the avoidance of doubt, there is no first class or second class citizen in Nigeria. We are all equal. And if Junaidu Mohammed and those he speaks for do not like it, they should take the Oba of Lagos's advise and jump in the lagoon.

''Nothing, I repeat nothing, must happen to Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo. His fate is in the hand of God and not in the hand of proud and presumptuous mortals like Junaid and those he speaks for!'' Omokri wrote on his Facebook page.

Meanwhile, former aviation minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has also reacted to Mohammed's comments.

The former minister said there is no such thing as "insisting" on anything in a democratic setting.

''Dr. Junaid Mohammed is out of touch with reality and he speaks only for the lunatic ultra-conservative wing of the core northern Muslim ruling elite to which he belongs.

''He is so extreme that he makes the die-hard Arewaists and core northern supremacists look like saints. He does not speak for moderate, reasonable, rational and God-fearing core northerners,'' Fani-Kayode wrote in an opinion piece sent to NAIJ.com.
