Take note: Abuja, Lagos, Minna, others to experience cloudy skies, with high temperature on Tuesday, May 16

- The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy morning on Tuesday, May 16

- NiMet’s Weather Outlook also predicted localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Jos, Lafia in the afternoon and evening hours

- The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning and localised thunderstorms

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted cloudy morning over the central states of the country on Tuesday with chances of localised thunderstorms over Jalingo, Ibi and Mambilla Plateau.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook issued by the agency’s Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Monday in Abuja, also predicted localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Jos, Lafia in the afternoon and evening hours.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures of 30 to 37 and 18 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy morning and localised thunderstorms over Enugu, Abakaliki, Lagos and Ijebu-Ode, with day and night temperatures of 32 to 34 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Lagos, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Ibadan, Ondo, Abeokuta, Umuahia, Owerri, Awka, Warri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and Uyo in the afternoon and evening hours.

According to NiMet, the northern states will experience cloudy morning with localised thunderstorms over Yelwa and over Sokoto, Gusau and Kano later in the day.

“The northern states will also have day and night temperatures of 34 to 41 and 24 to 29 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Thunderstorms are anticipated in most places across the country as a result of more influx of moisture in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
