- The weapons were recovered during a raid on militants believed to be followers of Ossy Ibori, the late notorious militant in Ondo state
- The deputy governor also visited widows of soldiers killed during the raid
Ondo state Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi led a delegation to visit the commanding officer of 19 battalion, Naqura barracks Okitipupa, Lt Col Ma'Aji.
The delegation was there to inspect the ammunition recovered by the Nigerian army during a raid on suspected militants in Ajapa community, Ondo state.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that a raid was conducted on men believed to be followers of Ossy Ibori, a notorious militant killed by the Nigerian army in an earlier raid.
The raid on Ajapa community in Ondo state led to the death of 15 militants and three Nigerian soldiers while several others were injured.
The deputy governor after inspecting the weapons, also paid a visit to the widows of soldiers who lost their lives in the clash between the militants and the army.
Ajayi also paid a courtesy visit to Ajapa community to ascertain that peace has indeed returned to the troubled community.
