An FCT High Court has granted a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed, bail.
NAIJ.com had previously reported that Bala Mohammed, a former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was on Wednesday, May 10, remanded in the Kuje Maximum Prison over allegations of fraud.
Mohammed is accused of fraudulently receiving over N800 million as gratification while in office as minister.
He is also accused of failing to declare his assets.
He was remanded in Kuje Maximum Prison on Wednesday, May 10, pending the determination of his bail application.
Delivering the ruling, the judge, Abubakar Talba, said Mohammed should produce two sureties with an equivalent sum as indicated in his bail bond.
The two sureties must have landed properties in Abuja, and must also show evidence of tax payments in the last three years for their properties.
The court also ruled that the sureties must comprise one senator and a federal civil servant of directorate cadre.
The case was adjourned till July 4, for trial.
