Public affairs analyst and columnist, Japheth Omojuwa has chided those calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to run for office in 2019.
Omojuwa described those making the calls as enemies of Nigeria and enemies of the president too.
He made the comment via his Twitter page, which NAIJ.com observed has had 388 retweets and 261 likes as at press time.
He noted that those who genuinely love President Buhari will only be focused on how he will get total healing to complete his current mandate with a solid legacy.
''There's got to be a limit to sycophancy. How can any sane person be screaming 'Buhari will run in 2019' at a time like this? Pure madness.
''Pray for the President. That he is healthy enough not just to finish his term, but to finish on a high.
''Surely, you wouldn't want him going through another round of campaigns and a new mandate of four years in 2019. That'd be irrational,'' Omojuwa wrote.
Nigeria's minister of state for petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu recently said President Buhari will probably win the 2019 presidential election while responding to a question on Quest Means Business, a business show on CNN.
Minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi also said President Buhari is fit enough to stand for reelection.
Amaechi stated this during an interview on a television programme aired on Channels TV, adding that the president's sickness is not enough to stop him from contesting elections in 2019.
Similarly, the special assistant to the president on National Assembly matters, Alhaji Abdulrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila, has said Buhari is fit to contest for presidency in 2019.
